9 men’s U18 World Championships have already taken place (first held in Italy in 2003), 8 women’s U18 World Championships. The first U18 women’s world championships were held in 2006 in Llanquihue, Chile. This is the second time in history that the U18 World Championships have been held in this southern Chilean city.
